Trigger Point Shock Therapy
01/03/11
Gentle Therapy for Chronic Pain
Trigger point shock wave therapy (TPST) is a highly efficient, non-surgical treatment for chronic pain in the musculoskeletal system. As a powerful system for pain therapy, it significantly expands the range of application in cases of myofascial pain syndrome:
- Cervical spine
- Upper extremities
- Pectoral girdle
- Hip region
- Thoracic and lumbar spine
- Lower extremities
Trigger point shock wave therapy (TPST) is used successfully in the treatment of chronic pain in muscles, tendons and in the region of bones.
Back and Muscle Pain
Causes of pain are often to be found not only in the local area of the pain itself but in distant trigger points in the corresponding muscle group. Trigger points are thickened, pain-sensitive points within a tense local muscle. They can cause a variety of pains, even well away from their own location. They are not only painful, there is also a tendency for strains, tears or other injuries to occur at these points.
